Course description

This course provides essential elements of Dementia Awareness for front-line healthcare and social care staff. Dementia is a chronic or persistent disorder of the mental processes caused by brain disease or injury and marked by memory disorders, personality changes, and impaired reasoning. The course allows you to understand the pathophysiology and the impact of dementia. A health and social care expert will deliver this course once a month as a live interactive course or you can take the course anytime as a self-paced online course.  This course covers knowledge, skills and behaviours expected of people working in the health and social care. Assessment includes multiple choice questions (MCQs).

  • Identify the risk factors of dementia
  • The prevalence of dementia
  • Signs and symptoms of dementia
  • The diagnosis and treatment of dementia
  • Care and management of dementia
